The aim of the project was to commemorate the Bee Gees and tell the story of their lives. A life size bronze sculpture of the group had already been commissioned to be the focal point of the installation.
Bee Gees Way is a permanent installation in a pedestrian walkway celebrating the life of the music group, the Bee Gees and their origins in Redcliffe, a coastal city in South East Queensland, Australia. The project was the initiative of the Moreton Bay Regional Council, led by the Lord Mayor, Councillor Allan Sutherland. The Bee Gees was formed by the three Gibb brothers. Having moved from England, the Gibb family lived there when the boys were in their teenage years in the 1960’s at the start of their long musical career.
